DESCRIPTION:

 

This offer includes three private day tours with pick-up in the Reykjavik area (or Keflavik airport if necessary) and drop-off at your accommodation every evening.

 

This is an  offer available both in summertime and in wintertime and we use a comfortable 9 seats van to explore the Reykjanes Peninsula, Golden Circle area and South Coast.

The activities in the summertime and wintertime are the same even if during the wintertime we have less daylight so we have less time to spend to visit the sites.

These are all private tours. The tours are personally designed on your preferences.

Depending on your wishes, the tours can have adventure activities like glacier hike, caving in a lava tube, hiking, or be more a comfortable style trip enjoying the places without too much action. 

From September to March, the offer includes one evening of Northern Lights hunting (if we have conditions in which the northern lights are possible to see). During the winter months tours is also possible that we spot the lights on our way back to Reykjavík! In that case,of course, we will stop to admire this beautiful show in the sky!

Nota bene: the order of the tours can change depending on weather conditions and pick up location.

Tour 1.

 

We visit Reykjanes, the 'smoking peninsula', rich in hot-springs, lava fields covered by moss, sea cliffs, lava tubes and lighthouses. The peninsula is very interesting and not very crowded. We will visit Kleifurvatn lake, surrounded by mountains and black sand, the Krisuvík geothermal area, the Reykjanes viti lighthouse, with beautiful sea cliffs where big waves of the North Atlantic ocean crash on the coast.

If you like adventure and action we can visit the Leiðarendi lava tube, formed by an eruption 4000 years ago and also find some short hike on a small mountain in the area. 

The famous Blue Lagoon can also be an option of the tour, if you want to relax in the hot water. (Entrance fee NOT included in the tour! if you want to go to the Blue Lagoon you need to let me know it at the moment of the booking cause it's necessary to book the entrance).

Tour 2.

 

We visit the South Coast. The main activity of the day is the hike at the Solheimajökull glacier, an outlet of the fourth largest icecap in Iceland. The hike takes about three hours included the time to gear you up with crampons and harnesses. The hike is at a beginner level but it is always a bit demanding. It is also possible to walk to the glacier, admiring the icebergs in the glacier lagoon and the front of the outlet, without hiking on the glacier. It will be in both cases an incredible experience!  

We we also visit two beautiful waterfalls:

the powerful Skogarfoss (where we can also take a short hike in a canyon full of trolls and small waterfalls and Seljalandsfoss, famous because you can walk behind it! 

We also visit another fantastic place depending on the season and your wishes: either the black sand beach Reynisfjara or the plane wreck in Solheimasandur black desert. A day full of emotions!

Tour 3.

​

We visit the Golden Circle area. The three big highlights of this tour are the Thingvellir National Park, important for the geology and the history of Iceland, the Geysir geothermal area, the only place in Iceland where you can see an active geysir erupting every 4/5 minutes, and the amazing Gullfoss waterfalls, one of the most incredible waterfalls of Iceland and Europe. 

Depending on your wishes and the season, we can combine these three unmissable sites with several activities: hiking in a mountain area with possibility of bathing in a small hot water river, visit greenhouses and farms, enjoying a relaxing bath in the Secret Lagoon (entrance fee NOT included in the tour, not need of booking in advance), snorkeling in Silfra (fee NOT included in the tour).

Icelandic weather is often unpredictable and it can change many times in the same day. For your best comfort and safety we recommend you to wear warm clothes and take with you waterproof jacket and trousers, gloves and hat. It's very important, especially in winter time, to wear waterproof walking shoes with a good grip. Always take with you your swimming suite and a towel.
