                                 Around Húsavík

DESCRIPTION:

Húsavík is a beautiful fishing village in the North of Iceland. The town is mostly famous for the whale watching but there are so many other attractions!!

Around Húsavík is a unique tour that allows you to discover hidden places where only local people go.

This tour is thought for people in Húsavík who have part of the day occupied by the whale watching tour and want to use the rest of the day doing something fun in the surrounding of this cute village.

We start our day driving shortly out of town and taking a beautiful hike along the sea to reach an hidden waterfall. During the walk, we will experience the sounds and the smells of the Icelandic nature. At the waterfall I will offer you a good Italian coffee or a tea with chocolate and Icelandic biscuits.

On the drive back we stop to admire a black sand beach, before
driving up to the Húsavikurfjall, the mountain that dominates the town. Once on the top, if the weather is good, you can have an incredible 360° view over all the area. It is sometimes possible to spot the island of Grimsey, the only place in Iceland touching the Artic Circle.

Once down, we drive shortly to a local lake, Botnsvatn, where we have a barbecue (or sandwiches if the weather is not good). If you like, I'll let you taste also some good Icelandic beer. The lake is surrounded by a very nice vegetation, a perfect place to relax after lunch.
